Kalantha's Barefoot Walk
Having been so touched by the plight of the fistula
patients of Ethiopia upon hearing their story, Mrs Kalantha Brewis of
Eckington, Worcestershire, decided to undertake a similar ordeal here in
Britain to raise money and awareness. She is planning on walking
barefoot - as the women of Ethiopia do - from her home in Eckington to
the Birmingham Women's Hospital in Edgbaston, Birmingham, a distance of
35 miles.
The walk will take place over 4 days from 9 June to 12
June 2010. She will be hosted overnight by various churches along
the route and will also be making scheduled stops for lunch, where you
can meet her, talk to her and give her your support. Trustees of
the Charity will be on hand at the lunch stops to help give out
information and tell you more about the work at the Addis Ababa Fistula
Hospital.
Even if you are not able to come along and meet Kalantha,
you are welcome to support her efforts by donating to her site:

(If you have been accustomed to using the
www.justgiving.com/hamlinfistulauk
site, be assured that both sites will direct your donation to
this charity.)
